Dear Fellow Philosophers and Philosophresses!
I would like to suggest a quite new format for our next meeting on March 21st. I want you to attend a mock defense of the dissertation, completing my degree of Doctor of Philosophy. My thesis is entitled "Trajectories of depressive symptoms and illicit drug use: longitudinal temporal associations and co-morbidity in the community sample of adults (the CARDIA Study)" This original work seeks to describe how depressive symptom develop among individuals who never received any mental health treatment. Why in some people depression persist and why in some - it declines over time? How cocaine or opiate or amphetamine use at the different stages of person's life intertwine with depression? And what clinicians can do about that? I will present for 45 min.
Please come, bring your philosopher's critical minds and grill me wholeheartedly! That would be tremendously helpful.
Igor has generously offered wine, crackers, and cheese for the event! Please feel free to bring cheese, additional wine, crackers, or other goodies as well. :-)
The meeting details:
Wednesday (March 21, 2012)
7:00pm
2600 11th Ave South, Birmingham, AL 35205
Hope to see you all,
Yulia
